Summary
Remus harrumphed at the warm, wet feeling of a dog’s tongue on his cheek. Padfoot always greeted him on the morning of the full moon. He could smell the steak from Moony’s Breakfast of Champions in the kitchen. He knew there’d be plates and bowls of reheated food under Preservation Spells for lunch, dinner, and pre-transformation supper. Padfoot would eat his dog sized portions, lay next to him on the couch, and generally, keep Sirius out of the way of the testy Wolf.
More often than not, the day of the full moon was the most peaceful day of the month. The Order knew damn well that they couldn’t spring last minute assignments or meetings because Remus couldn’t reschedule, and he could never take out his frustrations with his flatmate on Padfoot. Back before the Safety Guidelines were updated, if the weather was nice, they’d go for a walk to the little park down the block and back.
The only problem was that Sirius had gotten his days mixed up, and it was not the morning of the full moon.
