"I do not regret it," Lobster spoke with finality. "I would do it the same way again, if I had to. To protect the city that took me in and gave me a new start, a new chance, I would do anything."
Electric Eel's fingers paused once more where they traced Lobster's scars. Their eyes met.
"Do you mean Sugarteara?"

"Well, we were all rather inebriated," Sparkling said, awkward and careful. "We weren't thinking very clearly."
"Hey, the amount of drunk that I was has no correlation to the bad decisions I made," Vampire spoke up, still looking rather guilty, but firm in his words despite what they implied.
"We know that, Vampire," Mint Choco interrupted somewhat frantically, "we're saying that we only went along with your idea without a second thought because we were drunk."

Summary
The latching of the window clicked, and the window slid open with the dull, slightly sticky sounding thud of a window that had never been opened before. Almond looked up from his desk, paperwork by lamplight at midnight temporarily abandoned by his attention as a cookie parted the curtains by his window and slipped into the room.
"What," Almond said flatly, "the hell."
"My my, good evening to you too, Commissioner." Phantom Bleu stepped further into the room, tipping themself into an extravagant bow.
-
Or, Roguefort visits Almond for ulterior motives, and accidentally, unknowingly, causes the man to have a little bit of a heart attack.

Summary
'Alright Parfait, you got this,' she thought to herself, taking a deep breath and bracing herself to speak to the one and only Shining Glitter Cookie. 'Just act natural. Cool! Just act totally cool. And natural. She'll totally be wowed by you and then she'll wanna be friends and perform with you all the time and-'
"That's right!" Parfait answered brightly, flashing a smile, a wink, and holding up two peace signs to frame her face as cutely as she could manage. "And don't you forget it!"
She felt a piece of her soul grow stale and die.
'Did I just wink at Shining Glitter Cookie?!'

Summary
The staring wasn't unusual for Vampire to do, but what was odd was his silence.
Sparkling did not typically initiate conversation with customers unless they were silent, and he thought they needed a little push to get whatever thoughts were in their heads sorted out. Vampire was not this customer. Rather, Vampire was loud, opinionated, and Sparkling had become so adept at deciphering the increasingly slurred words of his friend that they could carry a conversation right up until closing. Sparkling never needed to initiate conversation with Vampire, because Vampire would do it for him.
Tonight was different.

Summary
Soulmates were a gift, a promise from those who sprinkled life into dough that one would not be alone. That one wouldn't have to live life without the promise of someone there. It was a guarantee from the universe.
Unlike everything else in Affogato's life, his soulmate was a stable, solid, unwavering promise. They were made for each other.
If he had nothing else, he had her.
Now, if only he could find her.

Summary
"We never get to see the sunrise here," the dark sorcerer muttered, "but every year I still get my hopes up."
Affogato frowned. "What do you mean?"
Licorice tore his gaze from the sky, looking directly at Affogato. He'd always found those light pale eyes of Licorice's to be particularly unnerving, but they were especially now so, in the dim light of early Beast-Yeast.
"It's the sunrise holiday," Licorice said, and something in Affogato's chest cracked, "isn't that why you're out here?"

Summary
The surge of power which rightfully belonged to the Millennial Tree had yet not faded from Churro's fingertips when the legendary embodiment of the wind dropped from his place in the sky. Muttering a quick prayer under his breath, Churro launched himself forward, using the last of the Tree's borrowed power to catch the Wind in the safety of his arms.
Wind Archer Cookie was lighter than he'd expected him to be.

Summary
Wind Archer was not a naturally loud cookie. He spoke when he felt it was prudent to. His arrival to any area was only accompanied by the faintest gust of wind, inaudible and unfelt, and his departures were much the same. He hardly lost his temper, and to this day, Millennial Tree had only seen him lose it once, despite the fact that they were both as old as the Picnic of the Gods, so many millennia ago. Most often, Wind Archer was silent, careful and watchful, never too expressive.
So when Wind Archer took a deep breath and spoke, it surprised Millennial Tree more than he cared to admit.

Summary
Throughout most of his life, Licorice Cookie had only shown loyalty to those who could provide him with respect. Just a smidgen of recognition, that was all he could ask for. But alas, that respect was unfairly difficult to find- to the point he started to believe he wasn’t deserving of such a thing.
Affogato Cookie was intent on proving him wrong- after all, without Licorice’s help, he wouldn’t have the Dark Cacao Kingdom wrapped around his finger right now. He owed that cookie ever so much, and he intended to repay the necromancer handsomely- and we’re not talking about gold here.
And so, with this mutually beneficial relationship, Licorice would receive the praise he deserved so much from the new king. The only aspect of this arrangement Affogato wasn’t quite sure about, was whether or not Licorice would agree to be more than just a political asset…
More than anyone had ever been to him…
More than the bed’s owner ever could have bargained for.
