Does the archive undergo routine maintenance?
When things are running smoothly, in both terms of the archive and the Archivist's own life, normal maintenance happens on Sunday mornings (Pacific Time) from 7am to 7:30am. This means that the archive goes down, operating system patches are completed, and routine archive maintenance occurs. This is a 30 minute window that generally works.
The only time this doesn't happen is if we have a sudden downtime between weekly maintenance windows (thus, an extra maintenance window would be superfluous) or, in the case of last weekend, the Archivist is down for the count (that Moderna booster kicked my butt last weekend!).
There have sometimes been maintenance banners that go up, but now that this is in the Archive FAQ, the only notice that will occur is going to be on Twitter.
